Spring balance

During the spring season it is quite common to see health problems caused by an imbalance of kapha (the earth/water element) in the human body, such as for example continuous cold, cough, sinusitis, asthma, throat infection and accumulation of phlegm, nostril conjunction, slow digestion, obesity, and many other symptoms. If your dominant element is kapha, or if you are suffering with any of these symptoms, you can follow a kapha balancing diet to regain your good health.

Kapha balancing food program

If you have an imbalance in the kapha element in your body, try to avoid cold and oily food. Make a habit of not eating before 10 am and after 6 pm. Eat and drink food and drinks which are warm or at least room temperature. Reduce the use of nuts and salt during this season.

To balance the kapha element in your body make sure that your daily diet includes plenty of the following:

Fruits
Pomme granate
Apple

Beans
Boiled/sprouted mungbeans
