Janesh Vaidya 2018 lecture tour photo album

Photos and quotes from Janesh Vaidya’s lecture tour 2018 in 43 Swedish cities from Åre in the north to Ystad in the south.  (Plus a summary if you missed the lecture or want to refresh your memory.)

“When I was six years old my grandma gave me a gift that changed my life, and is still changing my life.”

As always in his lectures Janesh Vaidya shared much of his grandmother’s wisdom, based on one of the most ancient medical sciences in the world, ayurveda.

“What is blocking you to live your life as you dream?”

Vaidya was leading the audience through exercises….

“We are here this evening to discuss how to live our life as we dream, right? Does that mean that at present our life is a catastrophe?”

…that made us look at our life from a new angle and…

“We have a good life right? But it could be…? Yes, it could be better. And for that what we need to do? We need to make some…? We need to make some changes in our life.”

…made us realize that changes are a part of our life that happens every where in our life – inside and outside. If we look at the nature we can see that it is changing through four seasons. And if we look at our own life we can see we are changing from our childhood to the old age. If we accept this universal truth, it is not hard to change anything in our life.

“The question is, what to change? How to change? And when to change?”

Through humorous picture language Janesh Vaidya introduced us to the subject of Manashastra – the science of mind, perhaps the most complicated subject of Ayurveda, and explained why this subject is so important in our life.

“With whom you have issues in your life?”

If we have serious issues it won’t be with the animals in the forest or the birds in the sky or the fish in the water. If you have an issue it is always with another human, whether it is your friends, or neighbours or a family member or your boss or colleague, it is always a human. The success or failure of your life is all about how you handle the people in your life. Simply said, if you know the psychology of the people you can handle them in a much better way. That’s why the study of psychology is one of the most important subjects in the school of life, and the earlier you learn this mind science the earlier you start living a better life.

“Who do you want to spend time with? And…”

To make it easier Vaidya divided the people we meet in our daily life into three categories (no it is not vata, pitta and kapha…) and asked us important questions about the three, which we could all recognise.

“…which one of them are YOU?”

It was a real mind opener for many of us when we were shown the characteristic reactions of the different people.

“Now you know!”

The lecture continued with a deeper look at the wisdom of Manashastra, how a thought is formed, it’s influence on our feelings and emotions, the cycles that are created and the ways we can break the patterns.

“This is important.”

According to ayurveda if you have a problem in your body it effects your mind and if you have a problem in your mind it effects your body. Which means body and mind are interrelated. That is why the study of mind is the most important in our life.

“So… ready for the magic?”
