Quinoa Pear Porridge

Quinoa Pear Porridge
I have noticed that even the people who are not normally fond of porridge gets interested in this quinoa pear porridge. So don’t wait too long to try it!
This dish is made to balance kapha. Make sure you read the instructions on how to adjust the dish for your PDE (Presently Dominating Element) below.
4 people
2 pears
1 tbsp chopped fresh ginger
2 cups water
1 cup quinoa
1 tsp ground cinnamon powder
½ tsp ground cardamom powder
1 pinch salt
4 tbsp raisins
Remove the seeds from the pears and cut in small cubes. Peel and cut the ginger in very small pieces. Add all ingredients apart from raisins to a pan and boil for 15 minutes on low heat.
Toast the raisins in a frying pan until they puff up to the shape of peanuts. Stir continuously. (Don’t use oil.)
Serve the porridge in small bowls and top with the toasted raisins.
Ayurveda guidelines:
V – Replace pear with a vata balancing fruit from the list on https://janeshvaidya.com/ayurveda/vata-food/. Omit the raisins. Eat in moderation.
